When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
