(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 And you are lost in play! 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
