In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
