A believer, a man from among the people of Pharaoh, who had concealed his faith, said, "Would you slay a man merely because he says, "My Lord is God." He has brought you clear signs from your Lord, and if he is lying, the sin of his will be on his own head; but if he is truthful, a part of that of which he warns you will surely befall you. Certainly, God does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar. 28 My people, today the kingdom is yours, and you are supreme in the land. But if Allah's chastisement were to come upon you, who will come to our help?” Pharaoh said: “I only counsel what I consider right; I only direct you to the Path of Rectitude.” 29 The one who believed said: 'I fear for you the like of the day of the confederates my nation, 30 The like of what befell the people of Nuh and Ad and Samood and those after them, and Allah does not desire injustice for (His) servants; 31 And, O my people! Lo! I fear for you a Day of Summoning, 32 On that day you will run away, but no one will be able to protect you from (God's Judgment). No one can guide one whom God has caused to go astray. 33 Joseph brought you the clear signs before, yet you continued in doubt concerning that he brought you until, when he perished, you said, "God will never send forth a Messenger after him." Even, so God leads astray the prodigal and the doubter.' 34 those who dispute the revelations of God without having received clear authority. This act greatly angers God and the believers. Thus does God seal the hearts of every arrogant oppressor." 35 And Pharaoh said, "O Haman, construct for me a tower that I might reach the ways - 36 The ways into the heavens - so that I may look at the deity of Moses; but indeed, I think he is a liar." And thus was made attractive to Pharaoh the evil of his deed, and he was averted from the [right] way. And the plan of Pharaoh was not except in ruin. 37
