The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Star when it goes down,- 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he misguided, 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 One of mighty powers hath taught it him. 5 very strong; he stood poised, 6 While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. 7 Then he approached and descended 8 And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. 11 What! do you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 And certainly he saw him in another descent, 13 by the lote-tree of the farthest limit, 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord. 18 (Among the idols) have you considered allat and al'uzza, 19 And Manat, the third - the other one? 20 Is it for you the males and for Him the females? 21 That, then, is an unjust division. 22 They are but names, named by you and your fathers. Allah has not sent down any authority for them. They follow conjecture and their soul's desire, eventhough the guidance of their Lord has come to them. 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25
