He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to him thou attendest 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and in awe of God 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted, pure. 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 and dense orchards, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 laughing, joyous; 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
