And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 (He will then be told): “Today it will not benefit you the least that after your wrong-doing you and your satans now share the chastisement.” 39 Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muhammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And ask them – did any of the Noble Messengers We sent before you, appoint any other Gods except the Most Gracious, whom they used to worship? 45
