So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Or has He (Allah) only daughters and you have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
