Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
