Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 noble scribes, 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 to burn therein. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
