Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5
True are the words of God the Almighty.
