The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
