Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
