Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
