We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles); 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 And We guided them on the straight path. 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said to his people: Do you not guard (against evil)? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?" 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 128 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 This is how We reward the virtuous. 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 Verily Lot was one of the apostles, 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
