He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And hath fear, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 And fruit and grass - 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
