HENCE, [remember how it was] when thy Sustainer summoned Moses: "Go unto those evil doing people. 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 that you let the Children of Israel go with us.'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
