Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
