Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
Almighty God's Truth.
