And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
