Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 who created death and life, that He might try you which of you is fairest in works; and He is the All-mighty, the All-forgiving -- 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear its roaring as it boils up, 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). 14
