The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
