The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
