The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
