Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 ‘And indeed some men among humans used to take the protection of some men among jinns, so it further increased their haughtiness.’ 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 Yet [thus it is] that whenever a servant of God stands up in prayer to Him, they [who are bent on denying the truth] would gladly overwhelm him with their crowds. 19

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
