In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
