The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
