The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
