۞ Say those who look not to encounter Us, 'Why have the angels not been sent down on us, or why see we not our Lord?' Waxed proud they have within them, and become greatly disdainful. 21 The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" 22 And We turned all the deeds they had performed into scattered floating specks of dust. 23 On that Day, the companions of Paradise (will have) a better abode and a finer restingplace. 24 And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent. 25 The true kingship on that day belongs to the Most Gracious; and that is hard for the disbelievers. 26 On that Day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands and say, "Would that I had walked in the Messenger's path! 27 Oh, would that I had never chosen such a one for my companion -- 28 He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need. 29 Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." 30 Thus, from the sinful people We made enemies for every Prophet. Your Lord is a Sufficient Guide and Helper. 31 And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly. 32 There is not an example they advance to which We do not give you a right answer and a better explanation. 33 Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces,- they will be in an evil plight, and, as to Path, most astray. 34
