And the disbelievers said, “Will we, when we and our forefathers have turned into dust, be removed again?” 67 We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples." 68 Say: "Go ye through the earth and see what has been the end of those guilty (of sin)." 69 And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire. 70 And [when] they ask, "When is this promise [of resurrection] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!" 71 say thou: "It may well be that something of that which [in your ignorance] you so hastily demand has already drawn close unto you." 72 Now, verily, thy Sustainer is indeed limitless in His bounty unto men - but most of them are bereft of gratitude. 73 Surely, your Lord knows what they hide in their hearts and what they reveal. 74 There is nothing that is hidden - be it in the heaven or the earth - but is recorded in a Clear Book. 75 BEHOLD, this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel most [of that] whereon they hold divergent views; 76 And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe. 77 Verily thy Lord will decide between them by His Decree: and He is Exalted in Might, All-Knowing. 78 So you place your trust in God. Certainly you stand on positive truth. 79 Indeed the dead* do not listen to your call nor do the deaf* listen to your call, when they flee turning back. (The dead and deaf implies the disbelievers.) 80 Nor canst thou lead the blind out of their error. Thou canst make none to hear, save those who believe Our revelations and who have surrendered. 81 ۞ And when the time for the fulfilment of Our Word against them will come, We shall bring forth for them a beast from the earth who will speak to them because people did not believe in Our Signs. 82
