Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 And Verily, it (this Quran) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before Us, indeed Exalted, full of Wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 AND YET, they attribute to Him offspring from among some of the beings created by Him! Verily, most obviously bereft of all gratitude is man! 15
