and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
