In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Those who disbelieve and bar from God's way, God will send their works astray. 1 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds and believed in what has been sent down upon Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) – and that is the truth from their Lord – Allah has relieved them of some of their evils and refined their condition. 2 This is because the unbelievers follow falsehood while the believers follow the truth from their Lord. As such Allah sets forth for people their examples. 3 So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. 4 He will guide them and improve their condition. 5 He will admit them into the Garden He has already made known to them. 6 O ye who believe! If ye help Allah, He will help you and will make your foothold firm. 7 And those who disbelieve, perdition is for them, and He will make their actions vain. 8 That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds. 9 ۞ Have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who had gone before them? Allah destroyed them! Likewise it is for the unbelievers, 10 That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector. 11
