Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
