Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 He plunged the villages 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
