Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
