The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
