The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
