3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
