And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 You and your fathers? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
