Is he whose breast God has expanded unto Islam, so he walks in a light from his Lord...? But woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of God! Those are in manifest error. 22 God bestows from on high the best of all teachings in the shape of a divine writ fully consistent within itself, repeating each statement [of the truth] in manifold forms [a divine writ] whereat shiver the skins of all who of their Sustainer stand in awe: [but] in the end their skins and their hearts do soften at the remembrance of [the grace of] God. Such is God's guidance: He guides therewith him that wills [to be guided] whereas he whom God lets go astray can never find any guide 23 Can he who will have to shield himself against the torment of the Day of Resurrection (be the same as one at peace)? The evil-doers will be told: "So taste what you earned." 24 Those before them denied, and so the doom came on them whence they knew not. 25 Thus Allah made them taste humiliation in the life of the world, and verily the doom of the Hereafter will be greater if they did but know. 26 We have put forth for men, in this Qur'an every kind of Parable, in order that they may receive admonition. 27 An Arabic Quran without any crookedness, that they may guard (against evil). 28 Allah presents an example: a slave owned by quarreling partners and another belonging exclusively to one man - are they equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah! But most of them do not know. 29 (Muhammad), you will die and all of them will also die. 30 and, then on the Day of Resurrection you shall place your dispute before your Sustainer. 31
