In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 and the severally severing 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
