Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 labouring, weary, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
