The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
