Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
