The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
