And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. – 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 we are the rangers, 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 And surely they used to say: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” – 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
