Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And accepts the best, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And rejects the best, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
