۞ To the 'Ad people, (We sent) Hud, one of their (own) brethren: He said: O my people! worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him will ye not fear (Allah)?" 65 The unbelievers among the leading men of his people said: 'Indeed we see you in folly, and consider you to be liars.' 66 'My nation, there is no foolishness in me' he replied. 'I am a Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds 67 I deliver to you the Messages of my Lord; I am your adviser sincere, faithful. 68 Why, do you deem it strange that a tiding from your Sustainer should have come unto you through a man from among yourselves, so that he might warn you? Do but remember how He made you heirs to Noah's people, and endowed you abundantly with power: remember, then, God's blessings, so that you might attain to a happy state!" 69 They said: art thou come unto us that we should worship God alone and leave that which our fathers were wont to worship? Bring thou then upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us if thou sayest sooth. 70 He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting." 71 So We delivered him and those with him by mercy from Us, and We cut off the last of those who rejected Our communications and were not believers. 72
