3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
